About Non-Medical Face Masks

Ensuring a healthy and safe environment for your staff and clients takes thought, particularly during the Covid-19 pandemic. The World Health Organization (WHO) says the best way to prevent the spread of Covid-19 is to ensure social distancing is maintained and hand washing is done often throughout the day.

WHO stresses that it is critical that medical masks and respirators be prioritized for health care workers. The use of masks made of other materials (e.g., cotton fabric), also known as non-medical masks, in the community setting is still being evaluated and shouldn't be considered a replacement for social distancing and proper hygiene.

When considering non-medical face masks, the following features should be taken into consideration:

• Numbers of layers of fabric/tissue
• Breathability of material used
• Water repellent/hydrophobic qualities
• Shape and fit of mask

Maskd works with suppliers to source high quality masks that meet the criteria of our business clients. This includes tight woven 100% cotton and other breathable fabrics that repel moisture and fit comfortably and snugly on the face.
